South Tyrol, Italy, will charge a tourist tax

South Tirol (Alto Adige) has introduced a tourist tax
Since 1 January 2014, all holidaymakers in the North Italian region of South Tirol (Alto Adige) have had to factor an extra expense into their holiday budget because they now have to pay a tourist tax, whether they are staying in a hotel, a guest house, a holiday park or a campsite.
Everyone over 14 years of age must pay the tax. Camping tourists are charged €0.70 per person per night.
