Corsica, France, will charge Ecotax on motorhomes

Corsica will charge Ecotax (ecological taxation) on motorhomes visiting the island.

Corsica is an island located southeast of the French Riviera (Nice), France. It is the fourth largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. It is also a popular tourist destination.

The Ecotax was approved by the Corsican Assembly on 29 May 2015. Most probably it would be effective in the summer.
In any case, what is not clear is whether they would charge a global price per stay or a daily fee.

Obviously, there is concern in the motorhome French media, since a good number of French motorhomes circulate on the island.

If rates are per day it may amount up to € 3 daily, similar to rates applied by tourist hotels in Brussels and other European cities.
