The Motorcaravanning Commission Meeting, FICC - Utrecht, The Netherlands, 2014

The Commission had its annual meeting on the 9th October 2014 at the headquarters of the NKC (Nederlandse Kampeerauto Club), located in Soesterberg, at 18 km from the magnificent city of Utrecht.

The components of the Commission group attending the event were the following:

  • José Iglesias González, Chairman of the Motorcaravanning Commission, FICC, member and adviser of the Spanish Federation.
  • Les Kendrick, Council member of the Motorcaravanners Club, UK;
  • Chris Wells, International Committee, The Camping and Caravanning Club, UK;
  • Gianni Picilli, President of Confedercampeggio, Italy;
  • Gérard Couté, President of the French Federation;
  • Stan Stolwerk, Director of the NKC, The Netherlands, and host of the event on behalf of the NKC club.
This was the last meeting of the present commission group who were elected for the term 2011-2014.
At the beginning of 2015 a new Motorcaravanning Commission will be elected; it could be composed with some of the actual members or even different ones, depending on the election results.

Regarding to the Chairman, José I. González (who was also a councillor of the FICC, as it was informed on a previous article on this website) announced that he will not present his candidature for the next term; he reminded that the actual Commission period ends on 31st December 2014.
During the meeting he thanked the Commission members for their collaboration during these years, for all the worked they had developed together, for their companionship and, above all, for contributing to improve the welfare of motorcaravanning in general.

The main points discussed on the agenda:
  • The New Approach by the ECF and FICC towards the driving licence for motorcaravans, 4.25 tonnes;
  • Presentation done by the chairman of the Commission based on the new driving licence for motorcaravans and future possibilities of approval;
  • Recapitulation of the Motorcaravanning Commission;
  • Toll benefit in European Motorways;
  • The Role of the Motorcaravanning Commission in Europe;
  • Danger of the Polyplastic windows installed on Motorcaravans in Italy, presented by Gianni Picilli.
