The US 66, also known as Route 66, Will Rogers Highway, the Mother Road and even referred to as the main road of the United States of America, is the most original and historical of the US roads whole network.

The route crosses the US from east to west. Initially, Route 66 starts from Chicago (Illinois), passing through the states of Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California, ending the tour in Los Angeles -about 3950 km. (2450 miles approx.)

Many parts of the route were replaced by interstate highways; but due to popular demand to restore the historic Route 66, some states are trying to recover the traditional road.

In general, it is accepted that Route 66 can be completed in two weeks. However, ideally a month should needed to go over this unique route.

In two weeks one could only visit the most popular sites and major cities. It would essential to use interstate highways to move at a constant speed.

taking a month it would allow us sufficient time to enjoy it, you can follow a large part of the historic route, avoiding as far as possible, interstate highways.
